Abstract
Toxic epidermal necrolysis.(T.E.N.) was first extensively described by Lyell in 1956. It is a serious, life-threatening disease that involves mucosal and cutaneous surface. Epidermal necrosis results in extensive shedding of the skin with an appearance of scalding of the skin. Toxic epidermal necrolysis appears to be a hypersensitivity phenomen triggered by many factors drug, infection, vaccination, radiotherapy and malignancies. The disease consists of a prodrome of malaise, lethargy, and fever followed by erythema and massive bullae formation.
A case of toxic epidermal necrolysis in 7 month old male, was presented. The characteristic skin lesion of toxic epidermal necrolysis developed after oral administration of some drug for common cold. The diagnosis of toxic epidermal necrolysis was confirmed by skin biopsy.
